Situated along Red Arrow Highway, an historic stretch of road that winds along Michigan’s Southwestern shoreline, the Red Arrow Roadhouse still has the inviting appeal of roadhouses once found while touring the countryside in the 40’s and 50’s. With its stucco exterior and arched doorway still intact, the building is a reflection of years past.
Inside the restaurant guest are greeted by a charming dining room with knotty pine walls, mounted game, antiques and memorabilia. Rustic hardwood floors and quaint tables are as inviting as the crafted wood bar, which originally graced Chicago’s East Bank Club.
Though the curb appeal and atmosphere may be the draw for first time patrons, the food keeps them returning. Menu items include pasta, steaks, ribs, hearty salads, homemade soups, and the nostalgic broasted chicken dinner, which has been a menu item for over 30 years, through several owners.
Accompanying the many tempting menu offerings are a wide variety of bottled beers and a sophisticated wine selection. Noted by Travel & Leisure magazine as “Harbor Country’s Hot Spot”, and featured in Midwest Living, the Roadhouse becomes the place to be on weekend evenings for locals and second home owners arriving from Chicago.
